This is to (once again) categorically reiterate that the recent Medical School (Recognition Withdrawal) Changes at the General Medical Council (GMC) have absolutely nothing (whatsoever) to do with the Medical Licensing Commission (MLC).

Even if your Primary Medical Qualification is not recognized by the GMC , the Medical Licensing Commission (MLC) will still allow you to sit for the MLCEE ; pending all other Formalities.

All that the MLC needs to see is an Official Letter from your National Government , clearly confirming that your Medical School is Duly Accredited by the Appropriate Medical Accreditation Body.

MLC Chief Regulator Joseph Chikelue Obi FRCAM(Dublin) recently updated the Sliding Scale for MLC Additional Discretionary Fees ; which officially came into effect on 16th of November 2009.

As previously stated ; MLC Additional Discretionary Fees are Specifically Reserved for those Option 2 MLC Candidates who additionally require far much more MLC Regulation (and MLC Supervision) than the Average MLC Licentiate.

By default , all those applying via MLC Option 3 will be eligible to pay MLC Additional Discretionary Fees ; together with certain other Clinical Candidates , as duly determined by the MLC Chief Regulator.

Kindly continue to contact the MLC directly - for further information ; as Additional Discretionary Fees are appropriately applied on a Case-By-Case Basis.
